Western & Southern Financial Group announced that Phillip R. Cox has joined its board of directors.
A native of Cincinnati, Cox has been the president and chief executive officer of Cox Financial Corporation, an independent, Cincinnati-based financial firm, for more than 40 years.
He has served on a number of corporate boards, including BDM International, Cincinnati Bell, Diebold, Inc., Duke Energy, PNC Bank (Cincinnati), Timken Steel Corporation and Touchstone Mutual Funds.
Additionally, Cox served on the board of Bethesda Hospital, and as chairman of the Business Alliance for Higher Education and the Economy, audit committee chairman for the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, co-chairman of the Ohio Business Roundtable, chairman of the board for the United Way of Greater Cincinnati, and chairman of the board for the University of Cincinnati. He holds honorary degrees from Mount St. Joseph University, Cincinnati Technical College and the University of Cincinnati.
