The Western & Southern Thanksgiving Day Race is a longtime Cincinnati tradition. Thousands of participants gather to run or walk a 10k course starting at Paul Brown Stadium to celebrate our community, a healthy lifestyle and, of course, the Thanksgiving holiday. Last year, the race was a virtual event to comply with state COVID-19 guidelines, but this year it is back in person.
Started in 1908, the Western & Southern Thanksgiving Day Race is one of the oldest races in America, according to Chicago Athlete Magazine. Western & Southern has been the title sponsor since 2013.
Proceeds from the race benefit several charities including the Barrett Cancer Center at UC, Cancer Free Kids, Alzheimer’s Association, Girls on the Run, and Keep Cincinnati Beautiful. Since 2016, the race has raised more than $500,000.
