Western & Southern Financial Group is among only 71 organizations in the world to win the 2021 ATD BEST Award. Western & Southern ranked in the top 20 for the second year in a row at No. 19, and was acknowledged with the award via video from ATD on August 30.
The award recognizes organizations that demonstrate enterprisewide success as a result of associate talent development. In a detailed application, Western & Southern demonstrated excellence in multiple aspects of talent development and the ability to get results by using talent development as a strategic business tool. The judges evaluated the extent to which:

• Learning has value in the organization's culture.
• Learning links to individual and organizational performance.
• Investment is made in talent development and performance initiatives.

In a news release, Tony Bingham, ATD president and chief executive officer, stated that the 71 organizations recognized "are driving impact and solving business challenges through talent development practices, and they are doing it in innovative ways. Senior leaders in these organizations understand the critical strategic role learning has, and they are committed to investing in the growth and development of their people.”
Western & Southern was among winners profiled in a special edition of ATD’s magazine TD. The profile, “Subject Matter Experts in Virtual Learning,” noted that Western & Southern’s pivot to new ways of communicating during the pandemic led to positive results.
