Zoofari is a crucial fundraising event held annually by the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. Even though the format changed this year from an exclusive event for 2,000 guests at the Zoo to a virtual one, the ability to invite an unlimited number of people to participate contributed to its success. The 2020 event has exceeded expectations by raising more than $650,000 for the Zoo.
Sponsored by Western & Southern Financial Group and Fort Washington Investment Advisors, Zoofari was co-hosted by WKRC-TV’s Bob Herzog and Zoo Director Thane Maynard. It featured animals, celebrities and unique silent auction items. Western & Southern Chairman, President and CEO John Barrett also made a guest appearance. Leading up to Zoofari, Western & Southern sponsored a Home Safari on Facebook that garnered more than 62,000 views.
For more than 50 years, Western & Southern has been a proud partner of the Zoo and supporter of its efforts to create adventure, convey knowledge, conserve nature and serve the community. Over five years ago, Western & Southern supported the development of the Zoo’s Africa exhibit, which features John the lion, his mate, Imani, and their three female cubs, one of which was named Willa by our associates. Western & Southern has been a supporter of Zoofari, in partnership with Fort Washington, since 1996.
