Western & Southern has a long tradition of promoting local arts organizations. In addition to sponsoring galleries at the Cincinnati Art Museum, funding free-admission-Sundays at the Taft Museum of Art, and being a series sponsor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Western & Southern is proud to be among the top 10 corporate partners of ArtsWave.
ArtsWave is a nonprofit community arts group that funds more than 100 arts organizations and projects in the Greater Cincinnati area. 2019 marked the sixth consecutive year ArtsWave’s annual fundraising campaign raised more than $12 million, extending its run as the nation’s largest campaign for the arts both in total contributions and number of donors.
This year, Western & Southern Chief Marketing Officer Jill McGruder is chair of the city-wide ArtsWave campaign, titled “Back the Arts. Forward the Future.” Nine other Western & Southern leaders are also serving with McGruder on the Community Campaign Cabinet. The fundraising goal for 2020 is $12.4 million.
Western & Southern has historically held a leadership role in individual and total giving to ArtsWave, ranking in the top 10 in pledges among partner companies in our region. In 2019, we pledged nearly $300,000 to ArtsWave.
“All together, this campaign will enable nearly half a million arts experiences for youth and continue to build momentum for a prosperous, inclusive future for all our region’s residents,” McGruder said in a statement.
