Fort Washington Investment Advisors, Inc. (Fort Washington), a subsidiary of Western & Southern Financial Group (Western & Southern), was featured in a Cincinnati Business Courier article titled “Here’s How This Western & Southern Unit is Fueling Much of Its Growth,” written by Steve Watkins and published Aug. 2.
The article was originally posted in the Courier’s online edition on Aug. 2, and online access is limited to subscribers.
Based on Courier staff writer Steve Watkins’ interview with Maribeth Rahe, Fort Washington president and CEO, and Brendan White, senior vice president and co-chief investment officer, the article points out that Fort Washington’s assets under management have grown slightly more than 10 percent a year since 2011. Its strong performance over the 30 years since its founding are the result of both gains in the market and strong investment performance and stability from its investment professionals. As a result, the firm is now Greater Cincinnati’s largest money manager.
The article also touches on the vital importance of investment performance to Western & Southern’s life insurance companies, the long-tenure of so many of Fort Washington’s investment professionals, and the success of White and Roger Lanham, senior vice president, in their co-chief investment officer roles.
Looking ahead, Rahe pointed out that the company has grown largely on its own, rather than through acquisitions. “We’ll continue to do so, and we’ll focus on extensions of our products,” she told Watkins.
The complete article was published in the Aug. 10 print edition of the Cincinnati Business Courier.
