Cincinnati’s end-of-summer tradition is set to blast off on Sept. 1 as the Western & Southern/WEBN Fireworks light up the sky. Roughly a half-million people are expected along Cincinnati’s riverfront for the local Labor Day weekend tradition that has featured free, family-friendly entertainment in the Cincinnati region for 48 years.
The 30-minute fireworks show is part of the city’s Riverfest celebration and showcases Rozzi's Famous Fireworks choreographed to a soundtrack curated by local radio station WEBN (102.7 FM), an affiliate of iHeart Media.
Since 2015, Western & Southern has been the fireworks show’s co-title sponsor alongside WEBN. Last year’s Western & Southern/WEBN Fireworks raised $1 million for the Freestore Foodbank, which is equal to more than 3 million meals.
"Western & Southern has been and remains committed to making Cincinnati the best place to live, work and celebrate life," said John F. Barrett, president, chairman and chief executive officer of Western & Southern Financial Group. "From our support of initiatives that promote health and higher education to our sponsorship of events like the fireworks and tennis tournament, we continue to strive to make Cincinnati the most wonderful city in America. Our decision to partner with iHeart Media Cincinnati is another example of that commitment."
