Career
Jon Westerman is a Vice President, Portfolio Manager and Head of Investment Grade Research. In this capacity, Westerman maintains oversight and leadership responsibilities for the firm’s Investment Grade Credit research process and analyst team. He also serves as a Portfolio Manager for the firm’s Investment Grade fixed income strategies.
Westerman has fundamental credit responsibilities for all of the firm’s Investment Grade (public and private placements) and Leveraged Credit (bonds and loans) investments in the Energy and Energy Infrastructure (Energy, Midstream/Pipelines, Power and Utilities) sectors.
Westerman joined the firm in 2012 and has served in various capacities in fixed income including Investment Grade and High Yield credit research, alternative credit investments, trading, portfolio management, and quantitative risk modeling and analysis. Prior to joining Fort Washington, Westerman served in various roles within Fort Washington’s parent company, Western & Southern Financial Group, since 2006.
Westerman began his career as an Associate in the Audit & Risk Assurance practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) where he was responsible for planning and executing audit and risk advisory services for both public and private clients across multiple industries, with a focus on Power and Utilities.
Education & Designations
Westerman has a BS, Accounting and Decision Science & Information Systems (magna cum laude), from the University of Kentucky and an MBA, Finance, from Xavier University. He holds the CFA and a CPA professional designations.
