Touchstone Investments, a Distinctively Active fund company, announced today that the Touchstone Global ESG Equity Fund is now the Touchstone Non-US ESG Equity Fund (the “Fund”). The new name reflects an updated investment strategy to invest primarily in non-U.S. companies as well as a change in its benchmark. The Fund will remain actively managed and sub-advised by Rockefeller Asset Management, a division of Rockefeller Capital Management (Rockefeller).
The Fund seeks long-term growth of capital and invests primarily in equity securities of non-U.S. companies of any size, but generally focuses on larger, more established businesses. Investments are selected based on an evaluation of a company's sustainability practices which considers and analyzes the potential environmental, social and governance impacts and risks of a company, how well the company manages these impacts and risks and ascertains the company's willingness to improve.
The Fund applies a bottom-up security analysis that includes fundamental, sector-based research in seeking to identify businesses that have high or improving returns on capital, barriers to competition and compelling valuations.
“ESG and sustainable investing continue to be at the forefront of many investors’ minds. We believe the change to a non-U.S. ESG Fund provides an opportunity that better aligns with investor preferences,” said Blake Moore, president and chief executive officer of Touchstone Investments. “Rockefeller has a recognized legacy of actively managing portfolios that integrate ESG research and shareholder engagement into the investment process, and we look forward to our continued relationship.”
Touchstone incorporates a sub-adviser model that offers investors access to institutional asset managers whose strategies are typically unavailable to the average investor.
“We have long held the view that ESG integration and engagement has the potential to enhance alpha and identify risks and opportunities that traditional fundamental analysis may not uncover,” said Casey C. Clark, CFA, president and chief investment officer of Rockefeller Asset Management.
The Fund’s tickers—TEQAX for Class A, TEQCX for Class C, TIQIX for Class Y, and TROCX for Institutional Class—will remain the same.
