Hundreds of Western & Southern associates, family and friends get a running start on their holiday festivities at the Western & Southern Thanksgiving Day Race 10K Run & Walk downtown each year.
Charities from across the region – including the Barrett Cancer Center, Goodwill and the Dragonfly Foundation – benefit from our team’s involvement and that of more than 10,000 other runners and walkers who participate.
The company also awards the Western & Southern Birds of a Feather Family Award. In 2018, it was given to the Keating family, who lost their family patriarch, Bill Keating, to brain cancer in 2017.
Western & Southern has been the title sponsor of the Thanksgiving Day Race since 2013. "This is a wonderful Cincinnati tradition and just one more way we are all making Cincinnati great!" said John F. Barrett, Western & Southern president, chairman and chief executive officer.
Founded in 1907, the Western & Southern Thanksgiving Day 10k walk and run is a Cincinnati treasure and tradition. It is one of the largest and oldest 10k races in the world. The race was voted one of the top “Turkey Trots” in America by Men’s Journal Magazine and one of the top 15 10k races in the country by BibRave.
