My favorite thing about coming to work at Western and Southern is the people. I have been surrounded by some great people here at Western and Southern that have mentored me throughout this time, encouraging me to try new things, stepping out of my comfort zone.
Hi. My name is Michelle Eiland. I am a Software Quality Assurance Manager in Information Technology. I graduated with my Master's in Human Resources so coming to Western and Southern, I thought I would go into HR, but then I found the love for technology when I got here, and that kind of changed my trajectory. I think Western and Southern is the ideal place to grow. As you can tell, I didn't start in a typical role here in IT, but just through my own working with mentors, having conversations and helping hone in on those skills, I was able to transition into a position that I like and I'm doing well in. So, I encourage people just to think outside of their comfort zone.
I think my career path is open, and that's one of the great things about working at Western and Southern you can kind of reinvent yourself. You can look at other opportunities within the organization and put the work in to figure out how you learn and grow in those roles, so that you can start a new journey; a new path. I think my career here can be endless, depending on what it is I value and want in my career moving forward.
